Questions

Good to know.

Phil’s goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident. Here are the answers to what people ask most.

What should I wear?

Wear what you feel comfortable in and have been complimented on. White, grey, charcoal and black, with navy, purple, green or light blue, all work well for business. Tailored outfits that aren’t wrinkly or bulky are best for headshots.

Outside in natural light, avoid red. For variety, bring a blazer or sweater you can layer on top. Extra outfits may cost more.

How much does it cost?

You pay for the length of your session, not the type. In studio: $350 for 30 minutes, $600 for an hour, $1,200 for two. On location: $550 for 45 minutes, $900 for 1.5 hours, $600 an hour after that.

After your shoot you choose your images from a proof gallery: $30 each, and every fifth image is free. Buy as many or as few as you like, straight away or weeks later.

How do I book?

Pick a place and a length on the Book page. A $50 deposit (plus GST) holds your time, and the rest is paid at your session. For anything bespoke, start a conversation instead.

How do I pay?

Online booking takes credit cards. E-transfer and cheques are accepted too, with a $50 administration fee.

How long until I get my images?

Your proof gallery arrives by email a few days after your session. The images you buy are edited and delivered within 1–2 weeks.

Can I get my images faster?

Yes, depending on how busy the studio is. Rush editing is $50 an image, with a five-day turnaround. Email to ask.

Will my images be retouched?

That’s up to you. Every image you buy includes basic enhancements: background cleaning, softening of skin, wrinkles and shine, and mild eye and teeth whitening. You can add fuller retouching, or download straight away.

My employer paid for my session. Can I buy images for myself?

Usage rights go to whoever pays for the session. Ask your employer to share the proof gallery with you, then buy your own. You’ll need a PhotoSyncro account to see it.

Can I reschedule?

Yes, to another time on the same day, using the link in your booking confirmation email. To move to a different day counts as a cancellation. Cancellations and no-shows are $50.

Can I bring more than one pet?

Yes, from the same household. Phil prefers one pet per portrait so every face stays sharp, so the best way is two back-to-back sessions.

Where is the studio?
